Australia ETA is Electronic Travel Authority to Australia. It is linked to your passport, and the same passport must be produced when touring Australia. The visa does not necessarily have to be stamped or a label placed on it. The data on the ETA can be accessed by travel agents, airlines and also Australian border agencies.
What one can do with the Australian Electronic Travel Authority
The Australia ETA Visa enables one to visit Australia for up to three months as a business person or as a tourist.one can also study here for a course with a duration of three months.
Business activities allowed include:
- Asking general business or employment questions
- Signing and negotiating new business contracts
- Official visits of the government to government activities
- One can also participate in non-paying trade seminars and conferences
This Australia ETA Visa is issued to you if you hold a genuine passport and you are traveling to Australia for business visits or tourism. Tourist activities include recreation, holidaying or visiting relatives and friends.
Australia ETA Visa and eVisitor Visa eligible countries:
To apply Australia Tourist or Business Visa, you must hold a passport issued by one of the countries or regions listed below. If you hold a non-citizen passport or other travel document, such as a Certificate of Identity, you are not eligible to apply for Australia Tourist or Business Visa.

Including family in your Australia ETA application
An Australia ETA Visa or Australia eVisitor Visa cannot be shared among the family member’s. Each person will have a personal ETA visa or eVisitor Visa including the children under the age of eighteen. It is therefore wise to apply the ETA Visa or eVisitor Visa for each family member.
